STEM Challenge: Easter Egg Drop

Eastern Lancaster County Library  (11 Chestnut Drive, New Holland)

In this STEM challenge, participants will design a safety device for their egg using basic materials. Then, we will drop the eggs from a high point to see if it “survives” the fall! 

Workshop is best for elementary aged students, but all ages are invited to enjoy some family fun with this festive science experiment!

ELANCO Library 2024 Solar Eclipse Party

Join us for the Spring 2024 solar eclipse party at the ELANCO Library! We will have space and solar themed activities for all ages, snacks, and a livestream of the event from different locations. 

No registration required. 

*Please note that the amount of solar viewing glasses available at the library for this program will be limited and on a first come, first serve basis. Visibility of the eclipse will be weather dependent!

Nature Journaling in Your Garden: A Longwood Gardens Community Read Program

Learn how to connect with personal and community gardens through the art of nature journaling. Participants will practice basic techniques and skills and learn to nurture their creative side to flourish and grow!

Homeschool Curriculum and Book Swap

Homeschooling families are invited to:

  • Find good homes for books you’ve outgrown.
  • Collect new educational materials for free.
  • Connect with other home educators.
  • 11:00 am – 11:45 am: Drop of your books and enjoy light refreshments and social time.
  • 11:45 am – 12:30 pm: Select and take home books.


This will be a completely free exchange, without strings attached—materials are contributed without condition, and people take materials without charge or condition, on a first-come, first-served basis.

31st Annual Lighthouse Benefit Auction

Lighthouse Vocational Services  (144 Orlan Road, New Holland, PA 17557)

7:00 am – 2:00 pm


The Lighthouse Vocational Services Auction is back! It’s one day: Saturday, June 8 from 7:00am to 2:00pm.

Bid on anything from beautiful baskets of flowers to power tools, hunting/camping equipment, indoor furniture, hand-crafted sheds or specialty items. Be sure to bring the family for the candy-drop!

Taste our savory foods like slow-smoked pork BBQ, fresh-cut fries, or homemade ice cream. Come early for a homemade breakfast. This event is FREE, but the proceeds will benefit the individuals who receive services from Lighthouse.

Stop by on Saturday, June 8 from 7 am to 2 pm. Lighthouse is located on 144 Orlan Road, New Holland PA. See you there!
